Ama’s African Market Place – Vendor Call Out

‘Black Tides’ | An Invitation is a day-long building takeover curated and produced by multi-award winning writer, playwright, producer and curator, Siana Bangura. The event honours the themes of her recent play, ‘Swim, Aunty, Swim!‘ (named Best New Play at the UK theatre Awards 2024). As well as panels, films, music, poetry, a wellbeing space, and of course West African Food, there will also be a market place, centring the wares of Black-women owned businesses.

Ama’s African Market is curated in honour of the fictional character ‘Ama Acheampong’ from the world of ‘Swim, Aunty, Swim!’, resident fashionista, designer, and businesswoman. She embodies ambition, drive, style, creativity, and passion and fiercely champions the women in her life.
Therefore we create this marketplace as an opportunity to lift up Black woman-owned businesses, and encourage attendees of the event to enjoy your products, talents, and learn more about your work, and support what you do.

Ama’s African Market Place is proudly co-curated by Siana Bangura Productions & YACreates.

You can now apply to be a vendor via our expression of interest form here
